Boy Scouts Merit Badge Program
Looking for an exciting outdoor experience for your troop this winter?
Mt. Abram has your solution.
The experienced skin school and ski patrol of Mt. Abram are here to help all of your scouts earn their snow sports merit badge an dmake it easy for you!
- An approved Snow Sports merit badge counselor on staff
- Ski patrol available to offer winter first aid training
- Ski school available to teach all disciplines of the merit badge
- Free loding can be arranged at nearby Army National Guard reserve
     training center.  Cooking facilities available for breakfast and dinner.
- Any or all meals can be provided at a group rate at Mt Abram
- Snow sport equipment rentals included at reduced group rate.
RATES for 07-08 SEASON:
2 days lift ticket, equipment rental and group lessons      $100
2 days lift ticket and group lessons                                   $70
2 days lift ticket plus rentals                                             $70
2 days lift ticket                                                               $44

Prices include badge requirement testing and sign-off.  Scout leader tickets are complimentary.  Tubing is available as a fun add-on activity for $7 per day.  Meals are also available -please inquire for details.  Typical prices range from $6/pp for breakfast, $7 for lunch and from $7 to $10 for dinner depending upon menu.  Please note that hte above rentals price does not include helmets, which can be rented at a discounted price of $6 per day.  Snow shoe rentals are also available for an alternative activity ($8 per day).

LODGING:  Bog Brook Military Training Facility, U.S. Route 2, Gilead, ME
This National Guard training facility is available at no cost to Scout troops.  There are several barracks complete with bunks, mattresses, and lockers, a large bathroom facility and shower house, and dingin hall with a fully equipped kitchen.  It is located in a wilderness setting approximately 15 minutes from Mt. Abram.  Other paid lodging options are abundant in the area.  Please inquire if you would like information on othe rchoices.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS:

     1. Pick your preferred dates.  Mr. Abram will have no blackout dates.  The program
           will be available fist-come-first-serve on any date you can arrange lodging and
           transportation.
     2. Arrange lodging.  Contact David Foss (david.foss1@us.army.mil) to reserve space
           at Bog Brook.
     3. Arrange transportation.
     4. Contact Mr. Abram with your dates and approximate numbers.  We will assist you
           with rental and lesson forms, catering needs and any other special requirements.

     5. Communicate with your troop members to determine who will attend.  Distribute
           and collect rental and lesson forms.  Work with your troop on badge requirements
            that can be practiced at home.  So that we can concentrate on only the on-snow
            requirements while at the mountain, scouts should prepare themselves at least one
            month prior to their visit and be ready to pass the first 5 requirements of the badge.
     6.  Show up, have fun and your scouts will go home with great memories and proudly
            wearing new badges!
